At midday on Easter Sunday the statues of the Christ and
the Virgin, borne by young men belonging to the Congregations of Our
Lord (Signore) and Rosary (Rosario), at the given signal of three bows,
would be paraded through the village after leaving simultaneously from
the centre of Pian Castello, from the main gate of the Chiesa Matrice
and the centenarian elm respectively. The statues are paraded through
the village amid the emotional and anxious crowd looking from their
balconies and from the perimeters of the square, witnessing this
poignant, symbolic scene of the embrace of Mother and Son in Galilee
following the Resurrection on the night preceding Easter Sunday.
